Floridians and out-of-state applicants were admitted at close rates, 22.3% and 20.5%, but residents filled most seats. The 2026-27 budget for an incoming freshman is $25,830 for a Florida resident and $54,010 for a non-resident. Binding Early Decision at UF for 2026-27
For the 2026-27 cycle the University of Florida offers three plans, starting with binding Early Decision, filed through the Common App by October 15, 2026, with a decision by December 11, 2026. Early Action, non-binding, closes November 1 with decisions on January 22, and Regular Decision closes January 15 with decisions on March 19. Early Decision requires a signed agreement from the student, a parent and the counselor and is limited to one college. It is open to every main-campus applicant but not to UF Online. The Common Data Set 2025-2026 gives no Early Decision counts, so there is no ED admit rate to weigh yet.

Residents and non-residents, nearly the same odds
UF admitted out-of-state applicants at almost the same rate as Floridians for fall 2025: 8,086 of 39,420 against 9,387 of 42,172. The difference shows up in who comes. Florida residents took 5,856 of the 7,619 seats and out-of-state students 1,608, because a Floridian pays a fraction of the non-resident price. International applicants faced 10.4%. The waiting list is close to closed: 2,737 students accepted a place for fall 2025 and 1 was admitted.
Scores are required by state rule
UF requires an SAT or ACT, as do Florida's other public universities under a Board of Governors rule, and accepts the CLT. Most enrolled students sent the SAT (78%), and the median was 1,410. Official scores for the 2026-27 cycle are due October 22 for Early Decision, November 8 for Early Action and January 22 for Regular Decision.
